Back issue for magazine - Morf # 8

Morf # 8 In issue 7, Morf invited its student readers to compete in its third annual essay contest. The first- and second-place entries will soon appear in Morf 8, themed around our love for objects. Entrants were asked to write about favourite items. Dirk Koppes of newspaper De Pers selected the four best of the 33 entries – more than twice as many as last year.

First-place winner Gerard van den Akker wrote about his Boomslang computer mouse and the way it married high performance and unusual design. Second-place winner Robbert van Strien analysed his attachment to his teddy bear, electric guitar and chisel and discovered that his feelings had evolved over the years.

Issue 8 is the second since Morf ’s redesign. “The magazine has grown in every respect," says Roel Klaassen, Premsela’s programme manager for Morf . “ Morf now also contains a wider variety of subjects, crossovers with related fields of work, and other ways of thinking about design.”

The magazine aims to spur readers to think about the design profession through a mix of opinion and essays from the Netherlands and abroad. These include original articles as well as new and classic reprints. Marjan Unger is editor-in-chief of the semiannual magazine, published in Dutch.
