ZOO Magazine 67 – Hope | Summer 2020
ZOO Magazine 67 – Hope | This issue cannot be described without acknowledging the changes the global community underwent during its formation. This issue felt intrinsically responsive, particularly our conversations with Dr Jane Goodall and Thyago Nogueira, where the protection of the environment felt such a driving role in how they both articulated themselves and the work they do.
The awe inspiring presence of nature also found its way into our interview with Sébastian Vivas, where the conceptualisation of Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet felt as much about the untouched landscape of Vallée de Joux, as the task of replicating their infamous watch in architectural form. The sense of stillness enforced by this time allowed artists Friedrich Kunath and Michaël Borremans to reflect on their practice and their respective journeys to creating the work they make today. Above all, issue 67 is a testament to the power of people. Our ability to create, entertain, listen and learn and above all remain hopefull.
